Summary:
The Director of Operations manages the overall airborne geophysical survey assets for Aeroquest Airborne, Mississauga and resources for the fulfilment of airborne survey contracts in accordance with Aeroquest Airborne safety guidelines, financial budgets and technical requirements.
The Director of Operations is responsible for managing, monitoring and assisting the Operations, Technical and Aviation departments within the Aeroquest Airborne, Mississauga Operations Group to ensure safe and efficient survey operations. Operations are conducted around the world and often involve multiple surveys spaning several time zones seven days a week.
The Director of Operations will assist the General Manager in implementing improvements to the Aeroquest Airborne, Mississauga Operations Group. This will include continuous safety, productivity and technical improvements. The Director of Operations will also assist the General Manager in the preparation of annual budgets as well as monthly, quarterly and annual reports.
The Director of Operations will be responsible for managing and developing the people within the Operations group and for supporting the managers in the group to do the same. This will also include the building and reinforcement of a positive corporate culture in alignment with the Company’s core values.
Duties / Responsibilities:
- Responsible for the overall management of the Operations, Technical and Aviation Departments (Aeroquest Airborne, Mississauga Operations Group). Coordinate the requirements of the Airborne Operations Group to ensure safe, efficient and effective survey operations.
- P&L responsibility for all surveys using Mississauga based resources and subcontractors managed by the Mississauga office as well as all Mississauga office based operations.
- Responsibility for all aspects of logistics including securing all necessary permits for import and export of aircraft and equipment, shipping or transportation of all equipment to and from the job site, ensuring all necessary insurances are in place, securing all required flight permits and permissions to conduct low level survey operations, movement of all field and support personnel, all field related logistics such as hotels, cars, fuel, security, communications, personnel and asset tracking, and shipping of data, parts and equipment to and from the field as necessary.
- Establish, maintain and continually improve policies, procedures and manuals that govern operations.
- Meet with clients as required to provide operations guidance, information, and for kick-off meetings.
- Providing guidance and support to the sales team for project costings and proposals and providing operations acceptance of the costings prior to submission of final quotes to clients.
- Responsible for the overall safe and efficient operation of all aircraft, operated or managed by Aeroquest Airborne, Mississauga.
- Coordinate and project manage the research, procurement and implementation of new or alternative aircraft types to safely fulfil operational requirements.
- Manage key sub-contractor contracts and relationships in support of airborne survey operations. Key contracts include lease arrangements (exclusive and non-exclusive) for the supply of aircraft and aircrew.
- Provide Aviation and Aviation Engineering advice to the Aeroquest Airborne Survey Group on non Aeroquest Airborne Aviation aircraft and Operations, particularly in relation to aircraft performance and specifications, aviation regulatory issues as they pertain to survey operations, Aircraft Engineering Orders (EO) and Supplemental Type Certificates (STC).
- Provide liaison between Aeroquest Airborne and various Aeronautical Engineering organisations for the issuance of relevant Engineering Orders (EO) and Supplemental Type Certificates (STC) for aircraft and systems.
- Create and manage systems to track and analyse key performance indicators (KPI) for all aspects of operations on a daily and project by project basis.
- In conjunction with the various Aeroquest Airborne department managers, develop, improve and continually update all programs, policies and procedures pertaining to the management, supervision and productivity of all Airborne Operations Group staff. This will include the development of key performance indicators for the Airborne Operations Group to monitor and continually improve all aspects of Operations.
- Ensuring that all employee objectives and reviews are completed within timelines given. Ensure that employees with the Operations group are motivated, empowered, held accountable, mentored and developed as appropriate.

Summary:

As an Electronic Operator Field Technician you will be working in an exciting, fast-paced field environment that will give you the opportunity to travel to remote locations across the globe. You will compile geospatial data required for multiple-scale map production from scanned aerial and digital photographs; apply standard photogrammetric techniques to geo-referenced three-dimensional image information interpretable from digital photography or other imagery; and use softcopy photogrammetric workstation technology to classify, measure, and record features. We are seeking individuals with technical expertise in the areas of Photogrammetry, or related areas such as cartography, surveying, Civil Engineering, geophysics, or physical science. Experience with: Micro Station, Intergraph, and related CAD/GIS software is desirable.
Position: LiDAR Analyst (Aeroquest Optimal – Huntsville, Alabama)
You will perform data processing tasks relating to the classification of LiDAR data returns obtained using an airborne laser sensor designed to capture information for modeling purposes and extract information to meet the needs of specific applications. We are seeking individuals with commonly applied standards for the application of LiDAR data, such as those published by the American Society for Photogrammetry and Remote Sensing (ASPRS), the U.S. Federal Geographic Data Committee (FGDC). Experience with CAD including Micro Station is desirable.
